Terminator: Genisys

Byte-Size TheTerminatorFans.com Review:

The latest installment of the Terminator franchise is shallow, lacking punch and defiantly self-satisfied. The source material is not only misunderstood; it is quite simply touted, flouted and cynically rehashed. Everything you loved about the first two movies is in evidence- only less impressively, without soul, and, in much smaller portions.
Schwarzenegger has become a parody of a parody of himself which consistently drags the viewer from the movie and the casting of both Clarke’s, and Mr. Courtney, is the product of trend-spotting as opposed to talent-spotting.
Genisys manages to confuse, dilute and sanitize the most integral aspects of the franchise whilst complacently claiming a seat at the banquet.

This movie is suffering from an identity crisis of Marvel proportions.

Exclusive content:

We’ve run a good number of Exclusive stories regarding Terminator Genisys so be sure to go back through our news if you want to know more about Genisys. We think our Exclusive news stories instead peak interest and do not damage your experience unlike other sites that have blown the whole movie open unnecessarily after script leaks. We did read the script late on in the game and it did confirm  more or less all the stories we ran with an insider close to the production of the movie.

Official Plot:

“When John Connor (Jason Clarke), leader of the human resistance, sends Sgt. Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) and safeguard the future, an unexpected turn of events creates a fractured timeline. Now, Sgt. Reese finds himself in a new and unfamiliar version of the past, where he is faced with unlikely allies, including the Guardian (Arnold Schwarzenegger), dangerous new enemies, and an unexpected new mission: To reset the future…”

Arnold Schwarzenegger is back in the starring role as both good (The Guardian) and evil (The Terminator) in Terminator Genisys…

Endoskeleton Design/Changes:

The classic T-800 has undergone a redesign for the new movie. Some fans are angry and some are more open minded than others. To see the new Endoskeleton in more detail click one of the images below.

Trailer Premiere Announcement:

Check out our Exclusive News Story to find out where and when the Terminator: Genisys Trailer will premiere by clicking here.

Early Rumor Plot (according to IMDb):

“The year is 2029. John Connor, leader of the resistance continues the war against the machines. At the Los Angeles offensive, John’s fears of the unknown future begin to emerge when TECOM spies reveal a new plot by SkyNet that will attack him from both fronts; past and future, and will ultimately change warfare forever.”

Trivia: TECOM? If this is official- have they changed the spelling of Tech-Com. Tech-Com is an elite sector/unit of The Human Resistance.

More Official Plot Reveal by Entertainment Weekly:

“Sarah Connor isn’t the innocent she was when Linda Hamilton first sported feathered hair and acid-washed jeans in the role. Nor is she Hamilton’s steely zero body-fat warrior in 1991’s T2. Rather, the mother of humanity’s messiah was orphaned by a Terminator at age 9. Since then, she’s been raised by (brace yourself) Schwarzenegger’s Terminator—an older T-800 she calls “Pops”—who is programmed to guard rather than to kill. As a result, Sarah is a highly trained antisocial recluse who’s great with a sniper rifle but not so skilled at the nuances of human emotion.”

Official Images:

Just below you will see the very first image of Arnold Schwarzenegger as ‘The Terminator’, but isn’t he supposed to be an Aged T-800 in this movie? Yes! but before he will age he will exist as a younger incarnation of the T-800 who takes on the role of Father to a 9 year old Sarah Connor after her foster parents are murdered by another Terminator in the movie.

Rumors also suggest Arnold will play a T-850 in the movie… as well as a young bad T-800 and the protector Aged T-800. Due to this rumor we cannot confirm what unit Arnold is portraying in this image but could likely be the younger version of the Aged T-800 that would make sense.

TheTerminatorFans.com campaign/movement to make Terminator: Genisys Rated R:

We gave fans the opportunity to voice their opinions on what Age Rating the new Terminator movie should have. The majority opinion of fans by a vast margin want the movie to be R Rated and reflect the first movie’s tone over subsequent sequels’ tone & direction. The belief of the majority is that the movie will be PG-13 after claims that the movie will have violence but a more comic book violence and the movie won’t utter any ‘Fuck’ words or other strong language. This is obviously concern for hardcore fans of the series but; what will be, will be. As loyal fans of the franchise we had to do this campaign out of loyalty for the roots of the franchise and for fans who wanted this to happen.

This was never an attack or boycott although some of our users are vehemently opposed to a PG-13 Terminator movie and wanted to boycott rather adamantly. We still stand by the movement and will never budge on what we wanted this movie to be. TheTerminatorFans.com staff can never be ‘yes men’ and to do so would be us selling out our integrity, this website and the hardcore fans. Quality should never be a compromise.

Official Movie Title Announcement:

Terminator: Genisys has been revealed as the new official title of the 5th Terminator movie. A very secretive production that still leaves big question for fans. Described as a stand-alone trilogy/reboot in which all the cast but Schwarzenegger has been recast with younger actors.

Read about the official announcement by clicking here or by clicking the image of Arnold Schwarzenegger below.

What’s with the spelling of ‘Genisys’?

Some people (discussion on our social networks) say the name looks like a typo or is trying to be hip or sci-fi cool, some people say they would have preferred the correct spelling of the word. Initially we thought the name would stand for some sub-corporate project set up by Cyberdyne Systems very much like Skynet Research; as was used in Terminator Salvation online viral marketing. Rumors have suggested that ‘Genesis’ initially is some kind of project.

Before we saw this description we presumed it would be called Genetic Intelligence Systems.

The main cast + recasting:

Schwarzenegger will play an aged T-800 in the new Terminator movie. Emilia Clarke will play Sarah Connor, Jai Cortney will play Kyle Reese and Jason Clarke will play John Connor. New characters will be added to the mythos and also familiar characters will return. A good number of the characters will also be portrayed by more than one actor in different time lines/periods. We just hope it feels believable. One of the biggest hurdles this film has to confront is to have a grounding in reality with developed characters and portrayals that live up to previous cast like Hamilton and Biehn. Some fans won’t accept it due to being invested in the original cast and to be honest; they should never be expected to. We will reserve our ‘judgment’ for the movie’s release.

Age rating and film tone/style:

The movie aims to be more like T2 than other installments. Although it has not been confirmed what age rating the movie will be. Fans would like an R but it could end up being PG-13. A more comic book style of action violence has been described in rumors.

Why can’t I find any set photos on TheTerminatorFans.com:

We were asked not to show them but they can be found everywhere else on the internet as long as SkyNet hasn’t removed all traces. None of the images really spoil the movie but they are of low quality either taken by bystanders or people hiding in bushes. Skydance and Paramount will release official images at some point and they will proudly feature on this website. This however means we are not interested in seeing and receiving set photos/videos from you… we just won’t publish them or share them and if you post them on our community expect to see them deleted unless stated otherwise. You have been warned.

What is this movie about:

This movie seems to dive into time travel… Terminator movies are not usually time travel movies but the original recipe was to use time travel as a starting device to do a movie in a current day setting. Although Terminator Salvation featured the future war (that war had never progressed into the advanced later future war which featured amazingly advanced technology and weaponry) it didn’t really expand on the mythos- rather diluting it somewhat. Genisys will take place in 1984 LA and a possible 2018 San Francisco setting as well as some other possible time periods. The future war will be present also. We know much more but we don’t want to go on a tangent about stuff we’ve already been posting since this movie began.

Skydance Productions announced that Cyberdyne Systems is to play a role in the movie once again and we have suggested that the location of Oracle Headquarters will be used as Cyberdyne Systems in the new Terminator movie.
