Fans battled on Twitter to unlock the trailer via the hashtag #TerminatorUnlock. The trailer revealed a big plot twist which was, honestly, very obvious to us from set photo leaks of John Connor (Jason Clarke) holding his arm out as if doing something visual effect-y and it was obviously him (Clarke) that Arnold was throwing through a wall with in earlier trailers.

People find the John Connor thing quite shocking,- even though this was originally the planned ending for Terminator Salvation (before the ending leaked and it was changed). John Connor (Christian Bale) was going to die and then his face was to be surgically transplanted onto Marcus Wright’s head. This would have been how John Connor got that famous facial scar and obviously would have kept the legend of John Connor alive.
Terminator Genisys will not be using that exact scenario but we will tell you it is indeed the real John Connor… but also a Terminator.
The trailer still deceives the viewer and John Connor being a Terminator in the movie is not the only twist in the movie.

@TerminatorFans I have bad feelings about it. It’s only trailer, but so far – it’s not Terminator I was expecting. @Terminator — Petar (@p_e_t_ar) April 13, 2015
