Terminator Genisys Help Spot Trailer

Recently a new TV spot for Terminator Genisys was released,- a Trailer for  is still planned for April/May at the latest. In this latest trailer we are introduced to Detective O’Brien played by J.K. Simmons.

The TV spot acts like a mini version of the other trailers; adding in some Oscar winning ingredients (J.K. Simmons in the promo of Terminator Genisys.

We can also see improvements of the VFX.

Let’s look at some of the major differences…

Endoskeleton:

When we ran info on the first Trailer we complained about how the Endoskeleton raised its shoulder to fire a weapon. That has changed; removing shoulder raise and the “shit eating grin”. The teeth are now toned down in contrast and the Endoskeleton looks more like its former self (to a degree). Although the head looks imposed at a later date,- the CGI should be up to spec by time of release (fingers crossed).

Police Cruiser:

The new “Help” spot reveals that the police cruiser that Arnold hand-break-slide’s to a halt has received heavy CGI treatment to damage the vehicle…

Bus Flip:

The ‘Bus Flip’ sequence now features a CGI helicopter but not only that the traffic (cars) have been altered too. Is it illegal to fly a helicopter alongside the Golden Gate Bridge, could we not have digitally imposed a real helicopter spliced  into the footage? Also a homage to the yellow crane flip in Terminator 3. Yes a homage to Terminator 3 of all Terminator movies.

T-1000 Mimicking Kyle Reese:

Clearly in the first trailer we witnessed two Kyle’s- which is a clear homage to the T-1000 taking the form of Sarah Connor in the second Terminator movie. Sarah tells the real Kyle to run. Sorry, but homages in Terminator movies are a fast train to nowhere with hardcore fans.

T-1000 (Liquid Metal) effects have been refined, the new villainous Terminator has shimmering blue particle effects on his chest which plays part in the plot of the movie.
