Terminator: Genesis Plot Details and Predictions

Terminator Genesis Plot

The studios describe Terminator: Genesis as being kinda like the first movie and the second movie but combined as one, which was the original intention of series creator James Cameron but due to budget and technology restrictions we never saw a liquid metal Arnold Schwarzenegger in 1984’s “The Terminator” nor did we get the subplot of Sarah and Kyle on a mission to blow up Cyberdyne Systems together to change the fate of the earth.

It has been explained that by the end of Genesis the series will head in a completely new direction than the original series… what direction could be worse than T3?

Arnold has publicly stated that he will be back as The Terminator and also very recently stated he will be playing an Aging T-800 Unit much like an article we wrote in 2012 titled “Terminator- The Aging Process” in that article we described Arnold being a Terminator that was on a mission that would span a very large amount of time due to to the time travel element available to the series. In ideas created by TheTerminatorFans.com we considered it totally possible to do a continuation with this in mind however Genesis/The New Terminator Trilogy is described as a reboot with younger actors replacing iconic roles.

It has been stated that time travel will play a more heavier role in this new set of Terminator movies. We have always stated that we wished for a complete trilogy and Skydance Productions seem to be doing that even to the point of filming parts 2 and 3 back to back to end the Terminator story once and for all. We have found it egotistical, we are not over confident in the reboot and overall we wanted a sequel to T2 that could have unwritten a lot of things that went wrong with the last two movies.

Now time for some predictions:

If Emilia Clarke is playing Sarah Connor, then this is a young Sarah Connor, if Jason Clarke is playing John Connor then this must be the John Connor in the future as he is way older than her.  So we could be seeing Jason Clarke in the middle of a future war sending back Jai Courtney to protect his young mother to ensure his existence. We believe the film will open much like Terminator 2 and will possibly continue into the unfilmed but scripted scenes of Terminator 2 in which we see Kyle Reese go back through time.

It has been stated we will see different T-800’s in the movie of varying ages… will we see the T-800 of 1984 going back in time before John Connor and his men reach the time displacement equipment? It is likely. It would make sense for the movie to start in a future war fashion as they are trying to do a Cameron style of project. This would then lead us into  a pretty much present day type of movie. The year 2017 has appeared in information relation to the project and this makes sense with the following.

J.K. Simmons has been cast for the project and is rumored to play Detective Hal Vuckovich but casting has also suggested they are looking to cast a young Detective Vuckovich in this movie as well this could indeed mean Simmons is in the time period of 2017 looking back on the events of 1984 in the movie.

This would suggest to us that we will have a future time period, the 1984 time period and a present-ish 2017 time period too. So could we be witness to 3 time periods all running in connection with each other? This sounds plausible.

Arnold has mentioned that his character will be sent back through time and that he will age but at a slower rate than a human and that he will be re-programmed at some point in the movie, so does this mean the bad T-800 from 1984 will get reprogrammed into good at some point… that somehow he will survive this time?

Now this next bit of information makes us feel like the “new direction” for the series could be a meeting of “The Butterfly Effect” and sci-fi time travel TV Series “Sliders”.

Casting news has revealed that “Sandrine Holt will play “Detective Cheung, who arrests Kyle and Sarah when they arrive in 2017.”

Kyle and Sarah arrive in 2017?? This means they need to travel from 1984, how? with some kind of TDD (Time Displacement Device)?

Another rumor is that John Connor in the future will discover tapes or manuscripts left by his mother which may cause flashback scenes to 1984, we bargain the tales of 1984 will be told in flashbacks and we will get some CGI Schwarzenegger scenes of “The Terminator” chasing Jai (Kyle) and Emilia (Sarah) to help enforce that these are the same characters and we must please try to ignore the events of the original movie in order to accept this new trilogy as the gospel of The Terminator Franchise.

So will Kyle and Sarah escape the clutches of the T-800 in 1984 by diving into some time portal which closes leaving the T-800 trapped in 1984? maybe he loses his skin in battle so he cannot travel through time but later he could regenerate his own tissue using methods seen in TSCC? Maybe.

So in the new tale Kyle Reese will see a future beyond 1984 and will survive his first encounter with the T-800 but will he survive the encounter with him in 2017? If Kyle was to die it will be at the end of Genesis.

Now if this movie is T1 and T2 rolled into one then we would like to predict Arnold will be reprogrammed into a good Terminator in 2017 but who could reprogram him? How about Danny Dyson? He apparently holds the secrets of SkyNet and could possibly be the only person capable of the task of reprogramming a Terminator. Danny Dyson may have continued his father’s research but for what gain? To ensure SkyNet… to destroy it or to alter history and make sure his father never died?

Now if a T-800 doesn’t age as fast as a human then does this mean Arnold will be slightly de-aged in 2017? will this same Terminator survive the possible time periods and end up in the same time period as Jason Clarke? or is that there just for confusion purposes…

We also believe that we may see a martial arts Terminator Villain in the movie played by Byung-hun Lee. When a petition appeared online to have JCVD play a villanous Terminator we did wonder what a varied fighting style Terminator would be like but lets hope it’s more threatening than the cyborg villain that appeared in RoboCop 3. We make this claim because this man is tipped to play a large role in Genesis. Maybe once Arnold is reprogrammed and becomes a good Terminator he will have to defend John Connor’s mum and dad from this deadly Terminator in the year 2017?

They could do anything, John Connor could travel back in time if the studio wanted it, Kyle and Sarah could end up in the time of the dinosaurs, anything is possible but the ideas we just have explored sound really plausible.

It would also be plausible that the back to back sequels are two future war movies that will involve constantly changing/distorting the timeline until the humans either win or loose the war with the machines once and for all.
