TERMINATOR: DARK FATE Theatrical Runtime + UK Age Rating CONFIRMED

Terminator: Dark Fate Runtime + UK Age Rating Confirmed by BBFC

The BBFC (British Board of Film Classification) have officially classified Terminator: Dark Fate as a 15 in the UK. Terminator: Dark Fate is of course meant to be Rated R in the United States and was promised to be so by Producer James Cameron and Director Tim Miller.

Age ratings also listed on IMDb (at the time of running this report):

Iceland 12.
Netherlands 12.
Luxombourg 12.

So, you can be three years younger in these countries? Are they getting another cut? Are their rating systems more relaxed – or are the BBFC and the MPAA just going to give the studios the ratings they ask for in specific territories? Had Terminator Genisys had one more F-Bomb in the movie – that would have been R rated too… Just some food for thought.

Thanks to Terminator Fan James Thomas for tipping us off about the Age Rating on the BBFC website.

Here is a comparison image we made recently to depict the UK and US age ratings…

Also listed on the BBFC website was the runtime of 128 minutes (2 hrs 8 mins).

On the 3rd of October Terminator Fan Onur Topuzlu contacted us to let us know that cinema chain Cinemark had the runtime listed (the same as the BBFC) as 128 minutes). We held off reporting on this as there was another runtime (1 hr and 55 mins) listed on other big chain theaters including AMC theaters.

According to IMDb the theatrical runtimes of the previous installments are as follows:

The Terminator (1984) had a runtime of 1 hr 47 min (107 min).

Terminator 2: Judgment Day had a runtime of 2 hr 17 min (137 min).

Terminator 3: Rise of The Machines had a runtime of 1 hr 49 min (109 min).

Terminator Salvation had a runtime of 1 hr 55 min (115 min).

and Terminator Genisys had a runtime of 2 hr 6 min (126 min).

What do you think of Terminator: Dark Fate’s runtime?

Are you confident that it’s the right amount of time to give the fans a movie they will enjoy?
