There have been concerns as to who the central focus is in Terminator: Dark Fate with some fans being concerned about Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) not having the central focus she deserves.
The concerns began with the first promotional image for the movie where Linda Hamilton was in the center of the image, nor did she have the image to herself. Also most fans (including us), would have preferred an image of Linda and Arnold as the first image, as we had not been theatrically introduced to the other characters yet – on top of the image not being very good.
Terminator: Dark Fate Director Tim Miller assured fans at San Diego Comic-Con 2019 that Linda Hamilton’s Sarah Connor is the central focus in Terminator: Dark Fate.
“Linda is amazing, and it was always her story,” said Miller. “There was no version of this movie without her in the driver’s seat. Jim [Cameron] called and asked her, and if she had said no, I don’t know what we would have done. We had no backup plan, which I really should have told Linda’s agent while she was negotiating. Just kidding…”

Gabriel Luna also shared his excitement of working with the original Terminator stars and recalled the first day of watching them film together…
“The coolest moment was probably the first time where [Hamilton and Schwarzenegger] had their first scene together,” recalled Luna. “I sat at the monitor with Tim and David Ellison just watching and like ‘what the heck is happening? Now this is a Terminator movie.’ But then there’s another moment where I’m running after Arnold and he’s shooting at me with a machine gun. Then I’m like ‘now I’m in a Terminator movie.'”
