TERMINATOR: DARK FATE “CINEMACON® ENSEMBLE AWARD”

CinemaCon 2019 Terminator: Dark Fate Ensemble Award

At CinemaCon 2019 the diverse cast of Terminator: Dark Fate received the “Ensemble Award” at the “CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Awards”. The ceremony itself took place Thursday, April 4, in The Colosseum at Caesars Palace and was hosted by the Coca-Cola company.

Although it was initially stated via a press release that Linda Hamilton, Natalia Reyes, Mackenzie Davis, and Gabriel Luna (in that order) were going to receive the award; Arnold Schwarzenegger ended up making a surprise appearance earlier in the day (preview footage presentation), Arnold’s name even headlined the Ensemble Award.

Overall it was nice for the cast to come together like this post-production, and for the movie’s casting and its diversity to be acknowledged by the Coca-Cola sponsored event. The event was important for the new Terminator; in healing some old wounds left by under-performing instalments in the franchise, rebuilding some trust within the industry, and with fans. It also showcased the movie’s potential to theater owners attending the convention,- as the movie was optioned for their consideration to show in their theaters.

The CinemaCon footage and presence of the cast, including the mighty return of Linda Hamilton, went down extremely well with the media and theater owners and we can look forward to seeing Terminator: Dark Fate showing on many screens worldwide.

CinemaCon Terminator: Dark Fate Ensemble Award Acceptance Speeeches

Here are the acceptance speeches (transcribed by TheTerminatorFans.com).

This is such a lovely nerve-wracking honor to receive this… well I’ll thank some people and say some other things. Thank you so much to everyone at NATO, I love movies, I won’t make anyone sit down and listen to my diatribe of why it’s important to see movies, it just means the world to me, so thank all of you for creating that experience for us and for Terminator we’re beyond excited… Mitch Neuhauser, John Fithian, for Paramount, Fox, Tencent, Skydance, James Cameron, er, David Ellison, our wonderful director Tim Miller. This experience was beyond anything I could have anticipated ever doing in my life and so much of that was the people I got to work with everyday, which was the most talented wonderful cast but also the kindest people that I could possibly be associated with, and I was so lucky to get to work with Linda Hamilton as she reprised this amazing warrior role, and I’ll let her take it from here…

Mackenzie Davis

Thank you. This means the world to me. We all know that we would be nothing if we didn’t have the platform to show our work and for that we’re ever grateful to the theater owners, to NATO, to the distributors here. I must say that I have never been so enchanted with my fellow actors as I have on this film. The strength and the love that these ladies and Gabriel, showed every single day on a very hard job. Tim Miller; we’ve never hugged so much and I’ve never missed people so much when I finished a job, so I think that speaks volumes about how we were as a team and I hope that on November 1st, you know, we’ll prove it to the world. Here’s to that (raises award). Here is our beautiful Natalia Reyes…

Linda Hamilton

Goodnight everyone, thanks for being here. I cannot be more excited, it was such a pleasure, you cannot imagine, to work with these two women. They are the most talented, generous, amazing loving women… and Gabriel – I’m sorry but we were working a lot together. So thank you all. I think it’s a very good sign that we haven’t premiered the movie and we are already winning awards. So, I hope it keeps going. So thank you all.

Natalia Reyes

Man, this is really cool. Thank you so much. I want to thank my mom, Debbie and my Grandma, Lydia, Tim and Megan, my brother and sister. And then of course Paramount, Jim G and everyone over there. My team Mellie and Danny and all those folks and Chris and Logan. Thank you to Jim, you know, the cinema Midas for taking a chance on me. Thank you Tim Miller, really thank you Tim Miller, dude I love you man and I’d run through a thousand walls for you, well, like 998 walls, because I believe you already put me through a couple when we were working so… there’s that. Thank you to these women (motions to Linda Hamilton, Mackenzie Davis and Natalia Reyes), even though they, as we were working, I imagined as the Coyote imagines the Road Runner in Looney Toons.. ? Just like a big steaming turkey. But they’re much more than that, they’re a pride of Lionesses that I’ve chased around for seven months and I really love them, thank you to them, and, of course, Arnold Schwarzenegger who was just a great inspiration and a real help doing this thing. Thank you to all the theater owners for giving us that chance to just walk in the room and sit in front of the portal and just go ( shoot/action gesture). Thank you so much.
