Terminator (2019) Production Moves to Budapest Hungary and Arnold Teased?

T-800 Terminator Super Bowl

Gabriel Luna (Terminator) has moved onto Budapest Hungary; which is one of the locations for the new Terminator 2: Judgment Day Sequel.

Production may continue in Spain and it is unknown which cast members will continue to film where etc. but if Luna’s social media antics are anything to go by then it could be a tease that Schwarzenegger might be joining the shoot soon (if he hasn’t already in secret).

It seems logical that they are just keeping Schwarzenegger’s involvement ultra secret to restore mystery and fix the previous damage done to the T-800 character in previous instalments by making the T-800 a parody character and the brunt of jokes (which has alienated some fans and has lost some support for Arnold’s continued involvement in the franchise). The aim is of course to turn this all around and restore the faith with this new movie. We get the feeling that Arnold will feature more heavily in Terminator 7 than in this movie but he will still be a focus of Terminator (2019) by design.

Budapest was a likely contender for a huge action set piece featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger and a plane crash sequence. Austria was also considered for this large action spectacle. Origo Studios (mentioned on the Terminator (2019) IMDb) has large sound stages that could be used for such a sequence and would shut this off from public filming, thus adding to the Schwarzenegger secrecy.

Terminator Vs Terminator perhaps? Good old protector Arnold saves the day again? Time will tell…
