Terminator (2019) Production Is Annoying Residents of Madrid

Terminator 6 Madrid Spain

As we know the current political climate of Mexico is not safe enough to film Terminator (2019); a movie which has a plot set in Mexico. Production designers have had to replicate a Mexico setting and Spain was one of the perfect places to do it. As we have previously mentioned a location scout was killed in Mexico not that long ago and we don’t want the Terminator crew or stars to be filming in dangerous territory, or to be killed PERIOD.

The last few days of filming have required a bustling/active street location dressed to the finest detail to look like a busy Mexican street, understandably this is affecting the area and causing disruption to the daily lives of people who live there, be it diverted/halted traffic, business disruption or people who live in the area having to alter their routines or put up with potential noise.

Let’s be blunt; residents are getting frustrated and understandably so- but people of Madrid please hear TheTerminatorFans.com out…

1. You have a movie filming in your area that has potential to be a huge success, we understand your daily lives are being changed and your routines are being altered. If you are a business owner you might be losing some money and we understand that is not good but when the movie comes out and if it is a huge success (things are looking hopeful that it will be a success) your business and your local area is going to become a hot-spot tourist destination.

2. People are going to want to come to see where Linda Hamilton (a very loved and respected Actress) shot scenes as Sarah Connor and also Mackenzie Davis and Natalia Reyes have fanbases that will peak interest in this location.

3. Do you own a business in the filming location? TheTerminatorFans.com would like to hear from you and your business. We want to know more about what you do and what your business entails and we would like to share this information with our users so after the movie is released Terminator Fans can come and try your food or drop by to talk about what went on when the movie filmed in the area.
As locals of the area; we hope that you will have some stories to tell Terminator fans and to keep the Terminator legend alive in your area.

Spain is a beautiful safe place for Terminator (2019) to take place and film. The disruption will not last long and we hope you will see all the benefits in the long term. If anyone in Spain or Madrid is angry about Terminator production please be aware that Terminator Fans across the world are very thankful and very excited that your beautiful locations are to feature in this movie. The fans have been very frustrated at digital sets being used in the past movies with CG and green screen and we are all very happy to have real sets and locations to add to the realism of story and acting performances.

elpais.com reports about resident anger/complaints and frustration (translated):

Violence and burritos. Santa Isabel Street, between Lavapiés and Antón Martín, looked like Mexico this week, because the movie people had come and turned it into Mexico. Street food stands, colorful posters of the Fair of the Cake (“the biggest cake in the world!”), Picturesque bicycles with sacks of beans and cinnamon skin extras.

The report says that Arnold Schwarzenegger was not present at this location but… we have Linda! It is obviously purposeful and tactical that Arnold’s role is being kept under lock and key.

In effect, they were shooting Terminator 6 and, although there was expectation, Terminator, that is, Arnold Schwarzenegger, was not coming.

The scenes are action orientated involving the female stars of the movie…

A film shoot is a tedious event: to produce a sequence of action without limits it is necessary to accumulate a million moments of tedium. So was the numerous technical staff, waiting for each shot, dressed as climbers, equipped with technology unknown to the profane, and, above all, stopping the traffic of pedestrians and curious at all times to re-record.

Locals and business owners share their complaints with authorities…

“We have to move on, we do not get to give a concert,” beg Noelia and Mercedes, members of the Alderaán choir, which has its premises on the same street. They had to wait their good three minutes to run after their destiny. In Pollenario Hernandez the pollero Sergio Hernandez, with the store cold and empty, does not seem satisfied with the surrounding atmosphere: “I have put a complaint to the City Council and I know that other merchants have done it”, he says, “customers can not To get to my store and many come in a bad mood because they are late to work or can not take their children to school. If they did not even let me pass by to open at dawn. ” It is seen that to make a sequence of action without limits one must interfere with a million lives of those that do not come out on celluloid.

Some people in the area are enjoying the production and already visiting the area with excitement…

In fact, the people from Madrid on the terraces are enjoying themselves with a spectacle that still has not been done drinking summer red and watching the actress MacKenzie Davis, who is also full of crap and sticking bruises, lie on the floor. Some lucky person has even managed to capture photos of Linda Hamilton who has then published on Instagram.

The Terminator production team have also been making efforts to compensate local business owners by renting their stores/premises for good money, with some actual premises/building interiors being used for filming and those business owners are happy and it is a good boost to their businesses.

Some of the shops in the area have been rented and tuned to the Mexican way; the interior is used as a warehouse for filming elements in exchange for good money: these neighbors and merchants do seem satisfied. Tim Miller, who was the director of Deadpool , is in charge of this production that will be released in November 2019.

Some more complaints arrose from disruption to the area due to large vehicles carrying movie set gear and equipment.

“We do not have anything against filming, we like it to come to shoot here, but also that this is compatible with the lives of neighbors,” protests Manolo Osuna, president of the residents association La Corrala, “these days We have had Santa Isabel, Mesón de Paredes and Valencia Street cut off, and that interferes with the lives of the people who live here. ” In Valencia Street, for example, the big trucks that transport the cinematographic material were parked, occupying practically all the parking spaces. Today filming moves from Lavapiés to the area of Pueblo Nuevo.

The City of Madrid reassures local residents about the benefits and attempts to minimise disruption as much as possible to the lives of people…

From the City of Madrid Film Office, dependent of the City Council, which tries to attract film shoots to the capital and facilitate their development, explain that they try to minimize the inconvenience to the neighbors. “We understand that whenever there are events in the public way, inconveniences and intrusions in the daily life take place, and it can be cumbersome. We try to harmonize as best as possible and give all the information. ” Also, they say, they try to make understand the benefits that the shootings have for the city. In the first four-month period of 2018 there were 362 shoots (40% of ads, 7% of series, 2% of films, etc.), which only in public road occupation rates generated revenues of 127,000 euros for the municipal coffers. Besides the purely economic aspect, according to the office these productions help to give visibility to the capital and to revitalize its audiovisual industry.

So, now the production moves from Lavapiés to the area of Pueblo Nuevo.

Thank you once again Spain and Madrid; specifically Santa Isabel Street area, between Lavapiés and Antón Martín and the upcoming location of Pueblo Nuevofor for being part of what we hope is a very cool and special movie. The tourists are coming, don’t worry… This is the most excited fans have been since 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day!
