Terminator 2 + 3 Set Costumer Greg Hall Dies

Terminator 2: Judgment Day Schwarzenegger Costumer Greg Hall

Terminator 2: Judgment Day and Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines costumer Greg Hall passed away suddenly at his home on February 12th 2021 aged 67.

Greg Hall worked in the costume and wardrobe department of over 30 movies, but he also worked personally on Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s costumes for eleven of his movies.

“Greg became a life-long friend with Arnold Schwarzenegger as Arnold’s personal costumer for most of his major films, including the “Terminator” films. Greg was very talented and passionate about this work, being quick to lend a hand. His friendly smile, sense of humor and deeds of kindness will be missed.”

Gregory Allen Hall’s Obituary

Greg got the ball rolling on his Hollywood career when he won a Bob Mackie Design Award at the Fashion Institute of Design in Los Angeles.

Some of Greg Hall’s non-Schwarzenegger related projects included; The Wild Life (1984), The River (1984), Weird Science (1985), Colors (1988) and True Romance (1993).

He worked personally for Arnold Schwarzenegger from 1990’s Kindergarten Cop, all the way through to 2013’s The Last Stand.

Most notably Terminator Fans will remember the work of Greg Hall due to the amount of battle damage phases Arnold Schwarzenegger’s character in T2 required, not only make-up damage stages, but also the deterioration of the T-800‘s leather clothing.
Greg Hall was responsible for the meticulous attention to detail that enhanced the character creation of Arnold’s role, and was important also for the sake of plot continuity, as movies like T2 (and most Hollywood movies in general) are usually shot out of sequence.
A Dremel Drill, for example, was used to sand and make holes to mimic the bullets which rained on The Terminator character from the T-1000 and law enforcement.

Rest in peace Greg Hall, our thoughts and prayers go out to his family at this sad time.
