Scoop: Arnold Talks Terminator, Matt Smith, Cameron, Predator, Conan, Running Man and more

Arnold appeared at ‘An Evening with Arnold Schwarzenegger’ in Leeds UK. Sadly we were unable to attend but we had 2 correspondents/reporters to keep an eye on things for us.

This was a chance for ticket buyers to meet Arnold Schwarzenegger and to enjoy a three course meal in the stunning venue the Organizers had some technical problems early on regarding microphone and projector issues but once the man himself graced the stage to discuss his life with presenter and comedian Jonathan Ross and fans were in for a treat.

Fans were able to get drunk via the numerous bars and sit and listen to Arnold talk about everything about his life.

Luke Wood reports for TheTerminatorFans.com:

“The legend that is Arnold Schwarzenegger arrived on stage to a standing ovation, loud cheers and clapping from a very excited audience.
Arnold talked of many stories which I have heard before, but not in as much detail. Each story went a little further than in previous interviews.
For example he told the “I’ll be back…I will be back” story, which fans have heard before. But I never knew that James Cameron had filmed the scene twenty plus times with every way Arnold could think of saying the line. Then they had both then sat down and Cameron had shown Arnold that the line, as written, worked the best, which is when Arnold finally gave in and accepted it.

News regarding terminator5/genysis was that he (Arnold) had had a thoroughly fantastic time and had loved getting back to the character of the Terminator. He also said that Smith was fantastic to work with, as was Courtney and Clarke. He revealed very little about the plot other than saying that he had enjoyed reading the script and liked what the writers had done.

A sequel to the running man or a reboot was talked of. Arnold said that at the time of making the original; the special effects were very limited, but now, in this new generation, the film has the potential to be amazing and he would love to be involved in a sequel or remake. He said that he would be gutted if he was not involved somewhere in its creation.

He mentioned that he would soon be receiving the final script for Conan 3, and it was clear that he was tremendously excited to be going back to one of his earliest franchises.

He told a very funny story about the filming of Predator, in which he talked of the start of his food poisoning and sever dehydration whilst filming. One day whilst jogging/running through Mexico’s busy streets; a very unexpected call of nature demanded that he must squat at the side of a busy road and relieve himself, in front of a packed street of heavy traffic…. literally a “pardy pooper”.

Overall the experience was one of a kind and one I shall cherish. To see a legend such a he on stage, talking, laughing, joking and coming out with all his classic lines from all his great films was priceless and thoroughly unforgettable.”
