Schwarzenegger Thinks ANOTHER Vulnerable T-800 is Interesting for Terminator 6

Arnold Schwarzenegger The Terminator

Well, Business Insider are confusing the hell out of us as they have now run another report following their interaction with Arnold while promoting his movie “Killing Gunther”. The earlier report they ran with him a few days ago worded a statement in reference to the upcoming Terminator 2 Sequel (Terminator 6) as playing a T-800 being like an “ordinary guy”. It now appears these comments in this new report were actually about Terminator Genisys. Which may bring relief to many fans…

Regarding Terminator Genisys , Arnold told BI:

Schwarzenegger said that, on top of the story being confusing, it made his T-800 character feel less vulnerable and more like “an ordinary guy who suddenly gets activated again.”

“It’s hard to come up with new ideas when you stay within that framework,” Schwarzenegger said of the complex plot focusing on the future and the past in “Terminator Genisys.”

However still pointing to Arnold Schwarzenegger playing the good guy in Terminator 6; Schwarzenegger talks about the vulnerability of the T-800…

“I think the T-800 model is a really interesting character, he’s a machine, can be destructive, can do things human beings can’t do, but at the same time when newer technology comes along the character suddenly is vulnerable and that makes him even more interesting.”

Right, so as usual the next Terminator has to have a bigger more advanced Terminator Unit as an excuse to push some kind of VFX boundary and allow Tim Miller to possibly cash some extra cheques through his VFX company “Blur” and poor Uncle Bob Pops needs to be vulnerable and all weak so we can cry when he gets hurt or loses his arms… it is doubtful that the new more advanced Terminator would be the 18 year old female lead and Arnold is the big bad vulnerable Terminator… this would be like some rip off of TSCC (Summer Glau) gone wrong.

Arnold also refers to the T-800 as a “he” even though it is a machine, “it” would be more appropriate.

Just our opinion here, but we wanted Arnold to be THE TERMINATOR in Terminator 6 and to be a bog standard T-800, that Terminator Unit is still really advanced compared to where we are technologically right now in the world but we guess we are to face a T-Billion or T-Z or some other radioactive superhero Terminator who unleashes CGI hell from its fingertips.

You have the fans who want to go back to basics and then other fans who want a bigger more advanced Terminator every movie…

Thankfully the studios are looking to go back to a simpler approach according to Arnold…

But he’s confident the next movie, currently untitled but will be directed by Tim Miller (“Deadpool”) and starring Schwarzenegger, will fix that problem by going back to a simpler approach.

“I think [James] Cameron and Tim [Miller] came up with a concept where they can continue on with the T-800 but make a whole new movie,” he said. “What they are doing now with this one is basically to just take a few very basic characters, like Linda Hamilton’s character and my character, and dismiss everything else. Just move away from all these rules of the timeline and other characters.”

The main problem is that many Terminator Fans now just want different things from the franchise and expect different things for Arnold’s character. This is all a problem started by making Arnold the good guy in Terminator 2 because of James Cameron’s “moral issues” with Arnold playing the bad guy. The people who were fans of Arnold being the bad guy are left in the cold due to politics and wanting to transform the franchise into a superhero franchise. We have fans who want to see Arnold snapping necks and punching/blasting holes through peoples bodies and some fans who want to see him walking the dog and raising children. The result now is that you can’t please everyone.
