In an interview with Business Insider, Arnold Schwarzenegger talked Terminator: Dark Fate while promoting his new animated series “Stan Lee’s Superhero Kindergarten”.
Stan Lee’s Superhero Kindergarten Official synopsis:
“Many years ago, Arnold Armstrong (Schwarzenegger) was just an average gym teacher who acquired incredible superpowers when the earth passed through the ionic dust left in the wake of a mysterious comet. As a result, Arnold transformed into Captain Courage, one of the earth’s greatest protectors…now, Arnold must serve humanity once again by working ‘undercover’ as a brand-new kindergarten teacher whose main task is to train this unique new generation of super-powered 5-year-olds secretly.”
Arnold will portray a protector of the planet in the TV show which very much looks to be an almost repackaging of “The Governator” – an animated series of Arnold Schwarzenegger as a retired Governor/family man by day and a superhero crime fighter by night… which was canned due to controversy in the actor’s personal life at the time, which will have made it difficult to sell the show to the younger/family audience.
Also, instead of playing himself Arnold will play a fictional character just bearing his first name as the name of the Armstrong character.
Plot Synopsis for Stan Lee and Schwarzenegger’s First Animated Series + Comic Book Pitch ‘The Governator’:
The Governator featured a fictionalized Schwarzenegger who after stepping down from his role as Governor of California became a superhero in order to fight crime. His real-life family and Brentwood home would have fictional counterparts with the home having an Arnold Cave under it as a base of operations. To assist in crime fighting, the cave would have high tech vehicles, super suits, gym and a group of sidekicks. One sidekick is his cyber security expert, Zeke Muckerberg, a teenage computer genius. The Govenator would go up against G.I.R.L.I.E. Men (Gangsters Imposters Racketeers Liars & Irredeemable Ex-cons), his recurring supervillains. A recurring character shown in the trailer is an investigative reporter, voiced by Larry King.
Captain Planet Next For Schwarzenegger?
We would imagine that as Executive Producer Arnold will want to spread educational, nutritional/fitness and global warming/green messages in Stan Lee’s Superhero Kindergarten. The series could be something akin to Captain Planet in terms of plot, message and having a moral core to each episode.
TheTerminatorFans.com could also imagine Arnold in a 90’s live-action captain planet movie. Captain Planet has all the Global Warming messages Arnold could want, and the cartoon ran from 1990-1996… Maybe Arnold will snap up the rights and James Cameron can make him into Captain Planet Avatar style for a movie. James Cameron does blue people well!

Schwarzenegger on Sarah Connor and Women Power
Business Insider: Though you haven’t been able to do a lot of kids-focused projects, you have had a focus on physical fitness for the youth going all the way back to H.W. Bush being in office. With your decades of knowledge, what does a show like this need to get through to not just kids but adults about the need for their kids to be active and not always on devices and playing games?
Schwarzenegger: That’s what George Herbert Bush was talking about, “the couch potatoes,” and how do we get the family as a whole off the couch? So this show will be about fitness but it will also have action and discipline, being inclusive, different things that I stand for. Teaching them how to use their powers for good. Indirectly there will be a message, but it will be very entertaining.
It’s like when James Cameron did the second “Terminator” movie, he didn’t go and say this will promote women power, he wrote it that way and by the end you could tell that Sarah Connor was the force that beat the Terminator. So you can get a message across without forcing it down people’s throats.
More Vulnerable T-800 and Training
Business Insider: Last we talked you said that the interest in still doing The Terminator character all these years later is its vulnerability when facing the newer forms of Terminators. Will that vulnerability be present in “Dark Fate”?
Schwarzenegger: You will see it. But I don’t want to get too much into that at this point. I think the studio has learned from the last time that they gave too much away of the story, so they want to keep it more under wraps this time around. What I will say is I play a great T-800 again and it was fun to have Linda Hamilton back. The new team was willing to do the work in preparing. They worked their asses off in the gym, I helped them with their training, a lot of them. I was happy the trailer that came out had a huge impact and people responded positively.
James Cameron is a Control Freak
Business Insider: And James Cameron is back as a producer!
Schwarzenegger: Cameron was a fanatic about this. He wanted to make sure we were bringing it in the right direction. He’s a control freak.
