RoboCop (2014) Poster

RoboCop (2014)

The first official RoboCop (2014) poster has been released. It looks okay in a minimalistic kinda way but in no way does it come close to beating the awesomeness of the original RoboCop poster from 1987.

“Your move…” will they even allow the word creep in a PG-13 RoboCop movie?

Orion released the original RoboCop in 1987 just a few years after they released the first Terminator movie in 1984. We had hoped MGM would have stayed true to the roots of RoboCop but they seem to have ‘sold out’ big time. MGM purchased Orion so we’d hoped they would have respected the material more than this.

The original synopsis for RoboCop (2014) was that the movie was set in the year 2029. Now the movie claims to be set in 2028 in an updated synopsis for the movie, was this a clash with the Terminator franchise that caused this alteration? Probably.

Now let’s look at the original RoboCop Poster from 1987…

A classic movie poster still undefeated.

RoboCop (2014) in no way looks or feels superior to RoboCop (1987).

MGM’s representation of RoboCop makes us worry about Terminator 5 even more!
