Robert Patrick Set to Make Return as New T-1000 in Terminator 7?

Robert Patrick to Star as T-1000 in Terminator 7

While many Terminator Fans would rather the Terminator franchise take a vacation for a while; there are still fans who want the franchise to go storming ahead with another Terminator movie… it is unknown if the studios feel the same way, regarding wanting to make more – especially with the amount of money they keep haemorrhaging with each outing.

Hot on the heels of the news that James Cameron might want to make a future war Terminator movie, We Got This Covered are back with potentially more interesting Terminator news to add to their fast-growing Terminator stack, which includes – the Hulu Terminator: Dark Fate series (they previously reported on), James Cameron’s Future War movie, and now… a source close to We Got This Covered has stated that…

“Robert Patrick is being eyed for an unlikely return as a different version of the T-1000 in a future Terminator project.”

We Got This Covered

We love Terminator: Judgment Day legend Robert Patrick, but do we want him to be the next actor to stain their Terminator legacy with a sub-par Terminator movie? NEGATIVE.

We talked about aging the T-800 and T-1000 in our 2012 article Terminator: The Aging Process. So it is possible to also age the T-1000 in many ways; in the same way it is to age Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s characters, but if they did bring Robert Patrick back… is it just to gain a free pass with the fanbase again, to make us blindly pay for more of the same?

Also, funnily enough we threw the idea out there for a “different version of the T-1000” (we titled it V2.0) preTerminator 6 back in 2017. The idea is that the new version 2.0 T-1000 was the result of the alternate timeline caused by the events of Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

This news comes directly after the success of Terminator: Resistance (and its DLC) which features a small appearance by Mr. Patrick, and the news that Robert is also joining The Walking Dead, to reunite with Terminator producer Gale Anne Hurd.
We Got This Covered have built a reputation for questionable posting and guess work, time will tell if this news has any substance.

Hopefully this isn’t just another case of getting fans hopes up for traffic.

Do you want a new T-1000 played by Robert Patrick, or do you want them to stop making Terminator movies, at least for now?
