NO FATE: Mackenzie Davis Teases How the First Two Films Connect To Terminator: Dark Fate

Grace Mackenzie Davis No Fate Terminator: Dark Fate

The new Terminator movie, Terminator: Dark Fate, has a lot going for it; from the return of Linda Hamilton as legendary warrior goddess (and mother of the future) Sarah Connor, to the homecoming of Terminator creator James Cameron (as a producer) and the reuniting of the two with ‘The Terminator’ Arnold Schwarzenegger.

T:DF is also touted as being the true Terminator 3 and a direct sequel to Terminator 2: Judgment Day, and as such has gained the world’s spotlight and a whole heap of anticipation from general movie-going audiences and the hardcore (and somewhat sceptical) Terminator fanbase.

How will Terminator: Dark Fate tie in to the first two movies? That would be the big question, a question that will (hopefully) be answered come the movie’s release November 2019.

But here’s something a little more tangible until then…

Comicbook.com spoke to Mackenzie Davis who plays ‘Grace’ in the new movie, about how T:DF ties in with The Terminator (1984) and Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

Ms. Davis stated:

“I think it ties into the first two movies in a way that’s really important, the whole scene with the blade on the table. Beyond that, I feel so scared to talk about this movie.”

Obviously “the scene with the blade on the table” refers to Terminator 2: Judgment Day and the scene with Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) scoring the legendary Terminator quote “No Fate” into the picnic bench with a knife.

Many fans will find that image tantalizingly appealing, especially given the title of the new movie ‘Terminator: Dark Fate’ and the fact that it implies that fate exists in an immutable way – something which has given fans pause for thought as it somewhat overrides the Terminator belief system.

Though, with the inclusion of that iconic scene comes the possibility that, perhaps, all is not as it seems.

Mackenzie Davis also recently revealed more about her character ‘Grace’, and her mission in Terminator: Dark Fate.
