Nike Blazer Mid Trainers Review

Nike will always be remembered by Terminator Fans as the brand of trainers worn by Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn) in the first Terminator movie. Sent back in time by the future leader of the worldwide resistance, Kyle Reese was a soldier on a mission but his first major hurdle was arriving in the present with no clothes.  After stealing a transient’s pants and out running the police for a while he broke into a department store for some clothing. Kyle grabbed himself a pair of new Nike Vandals (new in 1984 anyway). This was most likely the most luxurious footwear Kyle Reese ever wore in his life.

Schuh kindly sent us a pair of Nike Blazers (Vintage) and they are remarkably similar to the Vandals, minus the Velcro strap on the heels. Unfortunately grabbing a pair of Vandals from 1984 can be costly business and smelly too if they happen to be used but until Nike hears our demands and re-issues the 1984 style these shoes should be of high interest for Terminator Fans.

Nike Blazers are a vintage style and is a classic basketball sneaker from Nike; originally released in the 70s. These trainers were obviously part the evolution of the very Vandals that Kyle Reese wore in the first Terminator movie “The Terminator (1984)”. The upper is constructed from suede and features an oversized leather tick. A vintage treated cupsole completes them.

The trainers are so damn comfortable to wear. People in the 70s and 80s didn’t have it that bad at all. We would also recommend these trainers for any cosplayers out there as they would do your Kyle Reese costumes justice with little self-modification.

The trainers themselves not only look good but also in terms of style they hold up today even though they are vintage, Nike have never strayed too far from this model Vintage, 70s/80s is back in fashion. The first Terminator movie still stands against the later installments and it’s the same with Nike and this line of trainers.

The trainers are so damn good that they have sold out already but hopefully Schuh will be getting some more of these hot and in -demand trainers back in stock but if you’re a female of the species they are still in-stock… for now.

Get them while you can!

Here’s hoping Nike return to endorse Terminator 5.

Official TheTerminatorFans.com Trivia:

Michael Biehn sadly never got to keep his Nike Vandals that he wore in the first Terminator movie. 🙁
