Skydance Productions have labelled the new Terminator movies as ‘Stand-Alone’ meaning this is indeed a reboot; that isn’t really connected to the original movies, more like a retelling of an old tale but it will also allow them to do pretty much anything they want with the franchise.

It is now obvious that they will have new characters in the movie that have never been seen in any previous Terminator movie.

TheTerminatorFans.com always fought for a continuation, explored ideas of how this franchise could be saved without hitting the drawing board again. The studio decided to do something different and that is usually the case in Hollywood, we have, in time,- come to accept this project and so far we are not overly worried, they seem to be shooting the movie so far mainly at night, it looks like they are going to have future war scenes in the movie, the time period of 1984 will play a part in the movie and other things which should please the older fans.

July 2015 will reveal if Skydance and Paramount managed to pull this off. We do believe the movie will be better than both T3 and Salvation combined at least. We do hope the movie will be good and have always kept our fingers crossed that Skydance can pull this off. At first we were overly skeptical and angry with a reboot, we are interested see how this new direction pans out… if it fails terribly then they could always make Terminator 4 or Terminator 5 with the original key-players… Skydance could technically do anything they wish but they do plan to make this stand-alone trilogy but Terminator Salvation was meant to be the start of a new trilogy too. Who knows?

If Genesis Bombs they could always make Terminator 5 with Bale and Arnold

The Terminator franchise now has a chance of getting back on form… they just need to be careful with the comedy and one-liners. They have a lot of people who are waiting for a serious, believable movie and not a parody of what we once loved. We wish the franchise all the best, it deserves better years than it has had in the past.
