New Orleans: Terminator Highway Chase and Filming Update

Highway Chase Terminator

City officials of Louisiana made announcements that filming for the new Terminator movie would take place on the West Bank Expressway in New Orleans. That filming took place last weekend and the scenes being filmed were rumored to be a chase, now anyone knows that a good Terminator movie has a highway chase in it, it has been said that the chase would result in a simulated car crash near the Terry Parkway exit of the highway.

It’s rumored that there will be a high speed car chase in the movie that will result in a simulated car crash, near the Terry Parkway exit of the highway.

We have been posting set photos for the currently titled Terminator: Genesis and the filming that has took place in New Orleans has been utilizing 80s vehicles for the 1984 time period that will feature in the movie among others. Could this highway chase be the filming of the 1984 tunnel chase at the end of the movie? After all at the exit of the freeway is where Sarah and Kyle loose control of the vehicle and barrel roll the truck before the T-800 acquires an 18 wheeler to hunt them down. Then again just because we have seen 1984 set images doesn’t mean they are not also filming scenes for the time period of 2017 as time travel plays a larger role in this movie than previous installments.

In our last news story we ran a picture of what looked like Arnold Schwarzenegger sat shielding his face in a 1984 police car while using his cell phone. Arnold has been in New Orleans filming within the last few weeks so it is possible it was him in the photos.

Expect to see famous scenes from the first Terminator replayed in Terminator: Genesis…

It is unknown how the studio will deal with future war scenes in the movie, in previous movies they used the location of the New Mexico desert for the war scenes. We think this worked best in Terminator 2. Hopefully the future war won’t be all green screen!

Arnold does mention in this video that the location of San Francisco will also be used as a location for filming.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has stated that the movie will be more like T2 in tone and that CGI will be used to enhance the story and not over-used. Hopefully Genesis will use as many practical effects as possible!
