The creator of the Terminator franchise turned 59 years old today; Jim will always be somewhat of a legend around here after all The Terminator Fans wouldn’t exist without him but the overall feeling from our users is that Jim doesn’t really care about Terminator anymore. Maybe he has a fondness for it for bringing him wealth and the opportunity to do what he wanted to do in life but the overall feeling from fans is mixed from hero-worship to comments like “fuck him”. Many fans feel cheated that he walked away and even those who understood he didn’t want to direct another Terminator movie could never fully understand why he wouldn’t at least have a producer role or some form of input no matter how small.
Jim Cameron however did give some input to Terminator 5 as a favor to Arnold Schwarzenegger but we get the feeling this was just to seal a better deal for his friend Arnold and not for the greater good of the next movie. Jim stated the next Terminator movie should be all focused on Arnold. We do admit there is a lot to delve into in regard to the T-800 genesis story and things that have only been hinted at in comics, ie. unused storyboards or elements read about in movie novelizations (unused scenes)… things fans want to see but were never shown.
Jim Cameron stated that he told his story with T1 and T2 and there was nothing left to tell in the world of Terminator… we never really agreed with that bullshit statement.
Happy Birthday Jim the soup has indeed been pissed in but you pissed in it first with making the second Terminator movie so child fucking friendly. Enjoy your blue men but the majority of the Terminator fans don’t care about Pandora or your lack of passion for the movie that gave you everything you have today.
