James Cameron Says Schwarzenegger Will Play Bad T-800 in Terminator 6

The Terminator 6 Bad Schwarzenegger Villain Evil T-800

James Cameron spoke to IGN while promoting Alita: Battle Angel, and has revealed more about Arnold’s character in the new Terminator movie, AKA Terminator 6. Has Jim let slip a little too much info this time?

“Alita was clearly put in the right hands with Robert (Rodriguez), is Terminator in good hands with Tim Miller?”

IGN

“Absolutely, I mean, it’s Tim Miller.”

James Cameron

“Can you give us any hint of what’s coming with the as of yet untitled Terminator?”

IGN

“Arnold’s back and he’s bad and he’s a different Terminator than you’ve ever seen before. Not, I mean literally, that he’s a different chassis number but he’s also a very different guy that you’ve seen before and Linda is there to do battle; she’s there to kick ass and take names.”

James Cameron

“After Tim takes care of that can you give Neil Blomkamp a call about Aliens please?”

IGN

“I’m working on that, yeah.”

James Cameron

So, while it looks like Arnold will be an Aged T-800 (human-role fan speculations put aside- for now).

Notice Jim used the words “guy” instead of “machine” or “Terminator” to describe Arnold’s role, amidst all the learning computer/Arnold becoming human, concerns we have expressed on this site.

Interestingly Arnold will be bad according to Jim… this is what the majority of fans wanted but will it be bad enough, or just mainstream Hollywood bad- and pale in comparison to the first Terminator? That said, you also can’t say that if Arnold is playing a bad Terminator- that he won’t become good/play a hero role in the movie at some point.

We have said previously that if a Terminator (Arnold’s T-800) has learned to become a far more effective killing machine; then that might be interesting but there are still concerns that humanising a T-800 could just be cheesy.

So is Arnold bad in this movie or just a bad-ass “bad to the bone” like in Terminator 2?
