Alessio Cavatore made a name for himself developing games for Games Workshop famous for the Warhammer series.
Alessio developed a Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle Game in the past and now he is developing a Terminator Genisys game with his company River Horse Games.
Game packs are intended to grow with subsequent sequels to ‘Genisys’ and the first pack ‘The War Against the Machines’ is now available for pre-order. The packs will feature small plastic models which you will assemble yourself,- and as with Warhammer you will be painting these yourself. The War Against the Machines pack set will also ship with a limited edition metal Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney). The aim is to feature other characters as the game grows and develops. Special characters will also harness special abilities.
Personally, I enjoyed painting Space Marine Terminators from the Warhammer series when I was younger so this is kind of an honor!

How best can you describe the game to people who are not familiar with these ‘table-top’ style games (eg. Warhammer)?
It’s a bit like a board game, except that you can collect more miniatures and play on larger surfaces….
Will you be holding any tournaments to win prizes?
We’d certainly like to organize some events/tournaments….
So the concept art we found with an Endoskeleton holding a flame-thrower and shoulder mounted Rocket Launcher was provided by the studio or made by you guys? Are these weapons in the movie?
These are the ones we proposed, and will be making. Not in the movie I’m afraid…
-Well, nice job on the designs. Sure fans would love to see those weapons become a reality on the big screen…
So, the game will be man (Resistance) vs machine (SkyNet). Will we see any characters from the movie (including Arnold) and other various resistance characters or machine units?
Yes, all the characters from the movie (both in the future war and the past flashbacks/skirmishes).
We are actually able to add a few units that are not in Genisys, like endoskeletons with flame-throwers, missile launchers and command variants.
Initially we’ll concentrate on infantry, and then if the game goes well in terms of sales; we can start with the larger units, like that thing you see drop in front of Reese and John Connor in the trailer…
Yes,- the Spider HK.
Will the Guardian and The Terminator (young and old Schwarzenegger’s) be a part of the game and will the game be a future war battle or will present day battlefields also be available?
Mostly future, but after the movie we’ll do scenarios set in the past too… and the Guardian will be in the rules anyway.
