Iconic THE TERMINATOR (1984) Punks Scene Recreated As Retro Anime

The Terminator (1984) Movie Anime

Terminator Fan Flavio Luccisano contacted us to share his new animation project, in which he recreated one of his favorite scenes from The Terminator (1984) – the scene where the T-800 AKA The Terminator (Schwarzenegger) acquires clothing from a group of punks at Griffith Observatory.

Flavio has managed to create an authentic feeling retro anime movie style that definitely left us interested in a full version of the original movie in the medium.

Flavio told TheTerminatorFans.com:

I am a freelance Illustrator from Argentina, and I am an aspiring animator.
Terminator is one of my favorite movies of all time, I never get tired of it, specially the first one. I am a fan of T2 but the first movie is very special for me, I remember when my father showed me the movie for the first time, I was fascinated. I am a fan of cyberpunk in general and some months ago I saw the remastered version of the movie in the cinema again. I mean, it was pretty obvious the Terminator was on the list of movies I would have chosen for this animation project.
This project took me around two months, I am not very accomplished at animation times so it was hard in the beginning. I made the animation in Procreate (which is a drawing/painting app for Ipad), and I did the edit of the animations in Adobe Premiere (video editor software).

I use the original Japanese dubbing audio because It was also part of the aesthetic for the animation; which is very inspired by the 80s anime, especially Akira. Finally, I chose this sequence of the movie because it is so iconic for me and for many people and Terminator fans, I mean, when you see this sequence of the T-800 coming from the future and fighting with these gang members – you automatically need to see the entire movie.

So, I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed doing this, I put a lot of love into it!

Thank you very much!
