Linda Hamilton imbued the character with human contradictions – such as strength and frailty, to add depth to a character who had transitioned from damsel in distress in The Terminator, to the steely resolve of a mother fiercely determined to protect her son (and by extension humanity) in Terminator 2: Judgment Day, from a killer super computer with unknown motives but a singular objective… termination. The extinction of the human race.
