Happy Birthday to the Mother of Terminator Gale Anne Hurd

Gale Anne Hurd Terminator

Happy Birthday to the mother of the franchise and “The First Lady of Sci-Fi” Gale Anne Hurd; the lady responsible for The Terminator getting made, as well as producing the best and most loved Jim Cameron movies of the 80s and 90s.

We all know Hollywood has a dark side and part of that is how women are treated, they work harder than men for less pay, have to tolerate sexism or being treated as lesser. Gale Anne Hurd has overcome all those obstacles, quite literally Gale Anne Hurd is the real Sarah Connor of producers! She fought very hard to be where she is and she so deserves all her fans and support she gets. The Walking Dead community is far more thriving than Terminator is, based on a comicbook series by Robert Kirkman. Gale took the world of TWD to TV screens and she produces one of the most popular TV shows EVER from start to present! If you loved horror and suspense in the Terminator movies then Gale Anne Hurd is the only Terminator key-player we can see carrying the horror torch with The Walking Dead on AMC.

With Gale Anne Hurd, the story is the focus, she is anchored in realism and always requires the movies/projects she produces to be grounded in reality,- the ultimate example of this is the first Terminator. She likes to do things the proper way; real effects/practical/miniature, make-up, minimal CGI etc. No matter how extraordinary the subject matter, she wants audiences to believe in the story.

Fans contact us more and more to talk about Terminator and caring severely for the original timeline (of The Terminator and Terminator 2) and a wish for the franchise to return to a blend of Science-Fiction and Horror. As Terminator became more successful it made a huge tonal shift that the majority of fans won’t accept or tolerate- we need Gale and Jim to fix this mess.

The standard for Terminator has completely dropped and this website has no problem in saying it,- why would we applaud movies we don’t even want to watch more than once? Especially when the first time around was so dissatisfying? So, NO MORE Hollywood, we are NOT going back for more unless we actually trust the people involved.

We have speculated a Terminator return and Gale and Jim have teased it too but currently their contracts disallow them from participating in the franchise… but if anyone should own this franchise or be operating the movie side of the property they are the only 2 people we want to be in control and they are the only two people along with Actress Linda Hamilton who would get us back to the theaters to watch more Terminator. How hard would it be to make them co-owners or share holders with assets/a share of gross profit, there is always a deal to be made but it isn’t happening, it HAS to happen or this won’t keep us involved much longer. If Arnold Schwarzenegger can secure a percentage of movie release gross profit… maybe the people who made this franchise great deserve a percentage too?

Can Universal and 20th Century Fox please take over this franchise now or at least be invited to a distribution deal party to show the current rights owners a) how to make a real Terminator movie and b) how to get a financial success from this property without opposing, dictating or trying to drag their sticky fingers down the tapestry of Terminator lore? Can Paramount get a back bone and bring their indie label Vantage back for Terminator?

The Terminator and Aliens are testament to what Jim and Gale can create when left to their own devices and without Hollywood investors or execs swinging briefcases around with tacky summer movie marketing ploy demand nonsense.

A Hurd and Cameron cinematic reunion= a monumental moment for science-fiction horror and action in Hollywood. Imagine the movies we could get?

Here our our top 5 films/some ideas we would like to see from one of Hollywood best collaborative duos.

1. Terminator 2: Judgment Day Sequel (Rated R) A canon sequel to Terminator 2 that fuses the film-making style of both the first 2 movies. Linda Hamilton returns as older “I’m tired of this fucking shit” Sarah Connor teaming with her son John Connor to take down a Cybernetic Assasin. A thriller, horror, science fiction, drama MASTERPIECE! If Ripley is coming back then we want Sarah Connor back!

2. Aliens II (Rated R) Alien 5 is on the cards but imagine a new film that interconnects with Aliens somehow, maybe set in the same timeline as Aliens but happening elsewhere with other characters, bring back the 80s hair, set design/look- the lot and increase the ALIEN$! Make Aliens its own franchise within itself

3. The Abyss 2: The void (Rated R or PG-13) A canon continuation sequel. Can the message hit the viewer stronger with a stronger age rating? If it is Rated R we don’t need sex on the beach… just terror in the deep and a creature roaming the sea which makes Jaws look like a whimpy goldfish!

4. _____world a third installment to the theatrical westworld movies. What twisted-ass nightmare themepark would Jim and Gale create together? The possibilities are endless.

Come on Hollywood please release Jim Cameron from his green-screen prison for a couple of years and put him back on a real movie set with Gale Anne Hurd.

The wait continues for the rulers of our planet to return to helm the franchise!

What films would you like to see Jim and Gale make together? Give us your top 5’s or thoughts on our top 5 list in the comments below.
