Fan Report: ArcLight Presents Special T2 Screening with Intro by Robert Patrick

ArcLight Presents T2 Patrick

On April 28th of this year, ‘ArcLight Presents’ hosted a showing of Terminator 2: Judgment Day with a special intro by the T-1000 himself… Robert Patrick. They allowed fans to buy cinema tickets at a reasonable price to watch the movie but the event was extra special due the fact Robert Patrick was there to meet fans in person and do a talk before the movie began… he even stayed to watch the movie, all we can say is what a legend!

Terminator Fan Javie Dev contacted us about his personal experience of the event which he attended in Hollywood.

Javie Dev’s Fan Report:

After an exhausting traffic filled drive myself, Jake and his brother arrived at Arclight Cinemas. We were blown away on just how large and amazingly awesome this place was; our attentions were immediately caught by that of The Amazing Spider-man 2 costumes on display directly from the movie. The costumes consisted of that of Spiderman, Gwen Stacy, and Electro, after taking a few photos we anxiously made our way up the steps gawking at other awesome posters and art to our screening room.

When we entered the theater it was completely empty, i thought either we were the first ones to arrive, or we were in the wrong theater, after all it was already 6:45pm and the movie was set to be shown at 7pm, there was no entry to the theater after 7pm.
Around 7pm (that’s when people began to pour in large groups and fill the seats). After a few minutes the man himself, Robert Patrick entered from the right side of the theater taking a few photos with some fans and proceeded to the middle of the stage. He was introduced by a gentleman, and proceeded to ask him a few questions. Robert began to speak about the film and about working with James Cameron, Arnold, Edward, and Linda and Stan Winston. He then described a scene in which he was beating Arnold with the large metal prop rod, Robert had mentioned that James Cameron wanted Robert to go all out on Arnold, so he did, Arnold’s arm was folded behind him, Robert did not know this as he was pounding away at his back, James Cameron yelled cut, Robert looked down at Arnold as he was turning his head to Robert and said (Robert imitated his voice quite well by the way) “…That was my arm!” As we all laughed he’d explained that he was quite nervous after that, because they were going to film the next scene with Arnold pounding away at Robert.
After a few more stories he had introduced Anna Bartsch and thanked her for making the screening possible. Robert answered a few questions, then proceeded to introduce the movie and tell us that it was the first time his daughters watched Terminator 2. He walked up to his seat next to his daughters (which was only 3 seats away) and put his full attention to the screen.

The film began and everyone applauded, I was very excited, for this is my first time viewing Terminator 2 in theaters, for I never had the chance to see it in the big screen as a child. I soon had realized by the surround sounds and the quality of the film that this may have been an original reel from the 90s! I was beyond blown away, mainly because I thought Robert was just going to introduce the film then leave, but he was actually watching my favorite film from my childhood with us. This was beyond surreal, especially when he appeared on screen for the first time, I thought the whole time ‘wow… is this really happening?’ When the film had ended, everyone applauded and worked their ways to Robert for a photo. He was very friendly and nice to anyone who wanted a photo, Robert was about to throw in the towel for photos, I knew I couldn’t live with myself if I did not take a picture with him. I walked up and asked if I could take a photo with him, he said sure! But to hurry because the elevator was on its way up. My friend Ray took the photo, I shook Robert’s hand for the second time and thanked him. I Immediately checked the photo to make sure it came out well… it did, I then said I could now die in peace; I’ve been in the presence of Arnold Schwarzenegger and I got to watch T2 on the big screen in its original format for the first time with Robert (the T-1000) Patrick and his daughters. I can truly say this was beyond a wonderful experience, I can only thank TheTerminatorFans.com for posting this event on their site, Anna Bartsch for making it all possible, and of course, Robert Patrick himself for being the MAN! I can now die a happy clown.
