Exclusive: Terminator Genisys London Preview Schwarzenegger Q & A

Arnold Schwarzenegger Terminator Gensiys London Preview

Arnold is doing the rounds worldwide and attending 20 minute previews of Terminator Genisys and doing some Q and A’s/interviews for fans and press.  London UK is no different and thanks to our correspondent Jonathan Tam we have the full Q and A in video format which you can watch below.

Arnold says that Terminator Genisys has an “emotional quality” and the ability to give you “tears in your eyes when you walk out the theater”.

The movie is now being described by Arnold, Jim Cameron and even Emilia Clarke as the “real Terminator 3” in a movie that takes the first two into account and ignores T3 and Salvation.  Jim Cameron is is also being cited as saying (by Arnold)  that “If I had done another Terminator movie that is exactly what I would have done” in regard to Arnold battling it out with his younger self in Terminator Genisys. Again Arnold states that Jim Cameron loves Terminator Genisys.

In regard to the 1984 scenes in Terminator Genisys Arnold explains as we know that the rights for all the Terminator movies are owned by different studios/companies and that these scenes had to be re-created “freshly” as they would “not have had the co-operation to lift that footage out of Terminator 1 and put it in this movie” (Terminator Genisys).

Arnold also stated that he only wanted to do the movie with a “great script” and not just to “live off the reputation of the past”.

Arnold also discusses Brett Azar’s role in the movie describing him as having a very similar body that he had around that age, a miraculous role that was great to see him act out the fight scenes etc and also nice to see him get his first big break into the movies.

Regarding his co-stars Arnold states that everyone was “in-line” and “marching in the same direction” and that egos were not an issue. He has also stated before that it was a pleasure to work with this cast. He describes Alan Taylor as “an absolute Jewel” and that he was in “full control” and had the patience and ability to create “great synergy”.

On the subject of Terminator Salvation Arnold said as governor he was consumed with the work, if he was a real Terminator and if he didn’t need sleep he perhaps could have filmed the movie at night but had to pass and wished it well.

Overall it is nice to see Arnold in the UK and back promoting movies.
