We recently reported on the Arnold Schwarzenegger T-800 Guardian Statue from the cool guys over at Silver Fox Collectibles. Even though reportedly Terminator Genisys will not continue on with theatrical installments fans will be able to own a statue collection to commemorate the stand alone Terminator movie.
We are proud to reveal the second statue in this collection will be the redesigned T-800 Endoskeleton!
The images are subject to licensor approval… but damn, we sooo approve! The first thing that any big Terminator Fan will notice is the return of a phased plasma rifle that brings back fond memories of Terminator 2: Judgment Day’s iconic opening Future War sequence, holding this weapon already brings more authenticity to this product without question! The stunning detail in this back-shot from the hyper alloy combat chassis to the almost human-like spine, in our opinion, will be one of the finest if not the best Terminator Genisys collectibles yet and the perfect follow up to a Arnold Schwarzenegger likeness T-800 statue.
This 1:10 statue strikes a pose familiar and reminds us again of Terminator 2: Judgment Day, when Schwarzenegger’s T-800 stands guard over Sarah Connor and John Connor at the garage/lock-up (Terminator On Guard).
This collectible will surely win over fans even if they were not that fond of Terminator Genisys, the detail is just sublime, you can actually imagine the pistons moving fluidly which is how the Endoskeleton redesign was intended to play out on screen but we think was somewhat lacking in practical effect form on screen to do it justice- even though Legacy Effects put significant work into a practical effect Endoskeleton that sadly just ended up being used, in the majority, for reference/lighting instead of Endoskeleton hands-on-destroying and gut-punch-tearing through humans.
Just from these images alone we definitely believe this has the potential to be the best collectible rendition of the Terminator Genisys Endoskeleton, the sheer detail alone (look at those feet), the more authentic phased plasma (in the 40 watt range) weaponry (which we really hope the licensor approves; more for our sanity than anything else) sets this Genisys collectible out from the crowd of previous T: G Endoskeleton collectible releases.
Another problem we had with Genisys’ redesigned Endoskeleton was the PG-13 friendly face/smile but judging by this facial shot Silver Fox Collectibles have managed to bring a empty eyed and cold-blooded sinister quality back to this Endoskeleton collectible.
One thing this website prides itself on is honesty and honestly we love the look of this collectible and whether you loved or hated Terminator Genisys- we think this collectible has a place with many fans who will want to own this statue.
Silver Fox Collectibles also notified us that a new addition is planned for the statue collection and that they are working on a Spider HK Tank which was a unique Terminator Unit seen in the future war scenes of the movie.
