Exclusive: Iconic The Terminator Gargoyles Sunglasses BACK in Terminator Genisys

T-800 Gargoyles Sunglasses Terminator Genisys

We’ve had some sources lately telling us about the movie some more and we have witnessed some images from the movie. We will not share them as we don’t want to ruin the movie. Instead we will run some small stories which will make you want to go see Terminator Genisys.

If you love the first movie ‘The Terminator’ it will contain references and scenes that will recapture some of the magic from the 1984 movie and fans will appreciate the following news.

Imagine the joy we felt when we saw A CGI Arnold Schwarzenegger wearing Gargoyles ANSI Classics in a scene from the upcoming Terminator Genisys. One of our biggest problems with digital characters is the eyes and by covering them with the coolest sunglasses on earth we witnessed what looked like the real 1984 The Terminator in full signature Terminator Leather Jacket and pants iconic to the franchise… Yes fans, that’s right, not only is ‘The Terminator’ going to appear in Terminator Genisys but a CGI Arnold Schwarzenegger T-800 will be wearing the most memorable pair of sunglasses with a leather jacket and pants…. oh and boots but no motorcycle confirmed…yet; although we did have Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) and Jai Courtney (Kyle Reese) sat on one for promotional pictures.

The T-800 pictured below  from the Terminator Genisys trailer as seen from the ‘back’ IS wearing the iconic glasses in early footage.

Is this the 9 year old Sarah Connor David Ellison mentioned in early plot suggestions of what Terminator Genisys would be about? or is this a few years later as she looks 12-13. We did see an audition for a young Sarah Connor in the past a lot younger than this girl, perhaps an older girl was cast in the end?  The above location looks like Big Bear Lake to us, is the real life set location- Tiburon, if we had to make a guess we would say so, yes.

We know Sarah Connor’s parents are due to be assassinated in Terminator Genisys and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s ‘The Guardian’ will take on parental role to young Sarah.

This now forms new big questions… This is in the time period of the 70s, 1975? Is it Arnold’s new Aged ‘The guardian Terminator’ younger? is it another Terminator in an altered timeline in a movie that can constantly switch dimensions and time? Did this Terminator come back from the 1980s before it came from the future, where did it get ANSI Classic Sunglasses from? What has happened to the cabin where Sarah Connor and her parents live… ? Is that it all over the floor in the picture above? Many fans will scratch their heads and the answers can only be found by hitting your local Cinema in July 2015!

The plot of Terminator Genisys should keep fans on their toes and guessing that’s for sure but with the addition of authentic wardrobe to a movie that claims to be making a Jim Cameron style of Terminator movie, Terminator Genisys might have more soul to it than just homages and nostalgia.

As with all VFX at the click of a button or an unsuccessful legal licensing issue could see the Gargoyles ANSI Classic sunglasses style changed or deleted from the movie but we know the plan is for the best Terminator glasses ever to be part of Terminator Genisys and that would be a dream come true for fans of the original badass T-800 Terminator.

Terminator Genisys news now continues to get better and in total honesty we are now actually interested more than ever in the movie after recent stories we have reported.

Skydance announced that the Nike Vandals will also reappear in Terminator Genisys in aid of the movie’s authenticity as it attempts to please fans across the board.

The return of the ANSI classic would go down very well with the hardcore fans and collectors.

However we witnessed one error with the glasses in the bridge area, the CG is slightly inaccurate something the studio can hopefully iron out for the release if the glasses are used in the movie.

Here is the difference below…

Is this a legal issue or just early stages, locking in a licensing deal for Terminator Genisys with Gargoyles could be a successful move for the studio.

This also means that you will be able to possibly buy ‘The Terminator’ style collectibles and figures but they will be branded with ‘Terminator Genisys’.

‘The Terminator’ fans will want to buy Terminator Genisys T-800 collectibles that’s for sure!

So how do you own an original pair of Gargoyles ANSI classics these days?

According to Terminator Fan Logan Wood; first edition The Terminator ANSI Classic Gargoyles can cost anywhere from 300-600 dollars and are becoming rare to get hold of.

Logan managed to get 1985 edition ANSI Classics, this is him wearing his pair and wearing a fantastic 1984 The Terminator outfit.

Here is an image of a pair of First Edition Gargoyles ANSI Classics (below).

Is there a cheaper way to get an Arnold Schwarzenegger style pair of T1 sunglasses…

Gargoyles technically still makes the glasses but under a different name. The ANSI line still exists but with a more modernized look and design.

The Gargoyles NOVUS model is technically the model you want but they’re not fully authentic to the finer details of the originals.

A perfect branding/licensing opportunity for Skydance Productions awaits. The Terminator Genisys logo could go on the inside arms of the glasses. A perfect collectible for collectors and adults and give the children a cheaper plastic version with a light up eye or something. $$$
