DO NOT Purchase Terminator Products From Great Twins

Great Twins Buyer Beware Terminator Supreme Action Figures

A concerning situation has been brought to our attention regarding the Singapore design, production, and distribution company Great Twins. Great Twins obtained an official license to make Terminator 2: Judgment Day collectibles back in 2018.

The first release by Great Twins shipped to customers

Great Twins were set to offer fans affordable Terminator collectibles that came with accessories you would normally find with higher end releases.
In 2018 the company announced their first Terminator Supreme Action Figure; a clean T-800 figure with the likeness of actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, which was accessorized to the hilt. After a successful pre-order and release of this Terminator collectible, Great Twins forged ahead and planned more releases such as a T-1000, a battle damaged T-800 and even a T-800 Endoskeleton. Deluxe sets were also offered and the company began to take pre-orders for them via major stockists like BigBadToyStore.
With one Terminator product already in the hands of fans what could possibly go wrong… ?

In the first quarter of 2020 delays were explained away by the pandemic and another unforeseen and unspecified reason. Great Twins apologized for the inconvenience caused and stated that items would start to ship in the third and fourth quarter of 2020. The date for release of items was then updated to estimate the first and second quarter of 2021.
Fans again wanted to know where their pre-ordered items were, the ramping up of unanswered questions resulted in Great Twins going radio silent and ultimately terminating their Facebook account.

Concerned fans have been trying desperately to make contact with Great Twins – to no avail.

TheTerminatorFans.com have also been trying to find out what has been happening. Great Twins have ignored our emails requesting information for concerned fans. After no response from Great Twins, and being left with no other course of action, we expressed our concerns to a representative who handles the Terminator license for STUDIOCANAL.

We received the following statement:

“The license for Great Twins to produce T2 items ended in March 2021. They now have no rights to produce or sell T2 items. We, like you, found them to be an untrustworthy licensee and have repeatedly put them on notice. I actually believe they are out of business.

We have had many quality companies produce T1 and T2 figures over the years – Sideshow, Hot Toys, NECA, Prime 1 Studios, Darkside Collectibles, Fascinations, Oniri, Hachette Partworks, etc.

These are top companies producing and selling quality items. Sadly one company, Great Twins, proved to be different.”

Representative of STUDIOCANAL told TheTerminatorFans.com

It looks unlikely that fans will be refunded any money as Great Twins is located in Singapore. The pandemic has also put other collectible companies out of business: Chronicle Collectibles recently went bankrupt and seemingly left fans out of pocket, but Great Twins did not offer transparency or even so much as an explanation and are still taking orders for their products – products they have no legal right to produce – this speaks volumes.

STUDIOCANAL can accept no responsibility as they cannot ascertain who ordered what, if anything was received, or if customers were ever refunded.

As stated, the Great Twins website (and other collectibles outlets) are still taking orders for these Terminator products; so we strongly advise Terminator Fans against making any purchases / pre-orders.

We suggest fans contact their individual banking institutions to attain refunds if possible – but due to the location of Great Twins headquarters and potential time constraints of purchases, in conjunction with previously estimated delivery times; expect and prepare for the worst.

In 2019 this website ran a promotion with Great Twins with a promo code to give fans 25% off their orders. This was an unpaid promotion and something we participated in with Great Twins in good faith in an effort to get our supporters / users a discount. We had no reason to the question the legitimacy of a company who had obtained an official license and entered into a contract with Terminator rights holders – nothing led us to believe that they would do this to fans.

It is our hope that Terminator Fans can use this article as a form of evidence in communications with banks / Paypal / other organizations for electronic financial transactions, and that it can go some way to helping with reimbursement.

Please reiterate to your bank that since March 2021 Great Twins has not disclosed that it has had no legal right to produce or sell Terminator collectibles; so their date-shifting to include a second quarter release (March-June) was outside of the legal window in their agreement with STUDIOCANAL.

Please leave a comment on this page if you have been affected by the actions of Great Twins, to update other fans of any successes or failures regarding refunds, and to provide information which may help others.

We will keep everyone updated should new information arise.

*Shout out to Terminator Fan Boss Habibi for coming to us with his concerns about Great Twins.
