Diego Boneta Talks Terminator (2019) and Dublin Auditions

Entertainment Tonight Diego Boneta Terminator 6

Rumored to be the brother of Dani Ramos or at least somehow connected to her character; Actor/Singer Diego Boneta remained tight-lipped about the upcoming Terminator Reboot (a sequel to Terminator 2: Judgment Day) in an interview with ET (no, not ET the Extra Terrestrial).

Diego thinks it is “amazing” …

“I think what’s amazing about this one is James Cameron and Tim Miller. I mean, it’s a great marriage,”

On James Cameron…

“James Cameron is James Cameron,”

He certainly is, Diego and anyone who watched a particular South Park episode will remember a certain famous quote…

James Cameron doesn’t do what James Cameron does for James CameronJames Cameron does what James Cameron does because James Cameron is… James Cameron.

Diego has nothing but nice words for Director Tim Miller…

“He’s such an amazing guy and so talented. We hit it off,” Boneta said. “[After] doing [my] screen test with Tim and talking to him, he knows exactly what he wants and when you’re working with a director that just has that so clear, it just makes you trust them so much more.”

When he was asked about the character he would play; Diego was of course very cagey and like the rest of the cast he will have signed full NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement) but he does have a copy of the script and judging by his previous record Diego takes role preparation very seriously- so it is likely he is already prepping heavily for his Terminator stint.

“I really can’t say, but I’m really, really, really excited to be a part of this and I can’t wait to start shooting,” he said, noting that he won’t be going through any major physical transformation for the role. “I’m going to have to keep training, but nothing crazy.”

In regard to auditions Diego says he took a weekend trip/flight to Dublin; for the sake of discussion we’re going to presume that this is Dublin in Ireland and if so, that maybe confirms the potential UK filming location for the project (Ireland). He met Mackenzie Davis (potentially playing a character called Grace if an audition script is anything to go by) a human soldier/assassin or possible T-800/Terminator protector from the future ( it has been previously reported that Davis’ role is supposed to be in the vein of Arnold’s character and somewhat taking the torch from Schwarzenegger) and “other cast members.” .

If TheTerminatorFans.com had to put any form of bet on who those other cast members were; we would be thinking that new main/central cast member Dani Ramos actress Natalia Reyes and new purposed Terminator Villain Gabriel Luna also went on this trip to Dublin. Obviously the newer cast had a test of chemistry. Was Dublin perhaps a way to stay out the public eye to add some secrecy, or were producers also there to scout filming locations?

In regard to Dublin being a filming location then old era/historical dramas seem to be key but the standout possible location is an airport which has indeed been used as a filming location… if you have been following our reports then you will know that an airport and plane sequences are to be part of the movie.
There is also a pretty cool location in the form of an old prison,- it might not suit the project unless they are going to prison break Sarah Connor or John? Or they might want defunct prison stone corridors for a future war set… it looks cool regardless.
