AWESOME Terminator 2 Poster Concept Art by David Darrow

Awesome Terminator 2 Poster Concept Art by David Darrow

The poster for James Cameron’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day ended up being just as iconic as the movie itself: Arnold Schwarzenegger sitting upon a Harley Davidson Fat Boy holding a Winchester 1887 shotgun, wearing leathers and sunglasses, with a cold blue steel hue to the environment to reinforce that Schwarzenegger is still playing a ruthless machine.

These photographs were obviously conceptualized beforehand, and David Darrow‘s stunning artwork recently uploaded to comicartfans.com by user Marc Sans shows numerous potential promotional poster concepts, that would later be part of a promotional photoshoot for T2.

“David Darrow’s comp work for James Cameron’s “Terminator 2″ (1991). Done at Cimarron Group under the Art Direction of Jeff Bacon, who was in charge of the film’s campaign and came up with the final one sheet (the photo version we all know).”

We’ve knocked together a collage, as you can see below, for those not familiar with the Terminator 2: Judgment Day photoshoot and how they corelate to the concept art.

The ideas explored by David Darrow, likely during production, are interesting, but many fans will agree that the final money shot of Arnold sitting astride the Harley was the right decision.

Thanks to Terminator Fans Logan Wood and Ozan for the heads up!
