From facehuggers to feather dusters, discover how the perfect killing machine relaxes after a day of scaring space marines.

Review

Alien Next Door is a simple full color illustration book putting the classic Xenomorph creature in various day to day scenarios (and some not so day to day scenarios) that you definitely wouldn’t see the Xenomorph participating in in a theatrical outing.

The best way to describe Alien Next Door is as a childrens book for adults, although Alien Fans definitely might want to share this book with their children or buy it for them- and we wouldn’t blame them.

Alien Next Door is a perfect example of how you can reach a wider audience with a collectible without compromising the integrity or watering down the source material of a film itself.

The book does not take itself seriously, it contains many easter eggs/references fans will appreciate; most notably from Alien and Aliens although there is an Alien 3 logo reference on a drum kit (yes, the Alien and Ripley have formed a band together) and the Predator does make a cameo in the book as a cosplayer.

What other kind of things can you expect to see in the book? Well, there are various scenes all the way from Ripley lighting the candles on the Xenomorph’s birthday cake with a FLAMETHROWER through to the Alien sending Newt off on her first day of school as she cries at the bus stop. We guarantee that if you are an Alien fan and you don’t crack a smile while looking at the book then you must be an evilly programmed android or Terminator.

Also we couldn’t resist sharing the following image with fans of Alien playing on an old school arcade cabinet, good memories of the late Bill Paxton’s Hudson nostalgically came flooding back “GAME OVER MAN”.

This great little book contains bright colorful cute illustrations by Joey Spiotto, you can really tell he is a fan. The book does contain some blood but the Alien Next Door is cleaning it up with a mop… so not to worry.

While TheTerminatorFans.com opposes making franchises like Terminator and Alien “child friendly” we do not oppose it sparingly in collectible form, there is nothing wrong with a nice book like this once and a while or a cute collectible plush Endoskeleton or Xenomorph.

Alien Next Door – In Space, No One Can Hear You Clean was a fresh breeze, a visual treat and beautifully published by the awesome Titan Books.

Whoopee-fuckin’-do. Hey, I’m impressed.

Now how about Terminator Next Door?
