Academy Museum To Feature Terminator 2 Display

The Academy Museum will open its doors to the public on September 30th, 2021 and Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s The Terminator (T-800) will be there to greet visitors – or at least his motionless animatronic puppet head will. The head is of course the practical effect mastery of Stan Winston Studio created for 1991‘s blockbuster sequel Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

The animatronic head, like most Terminator practical effects, will have been utilized for scenes that were too dangerous for Arnold Schwarzenegger, his stuntmen, or if the story required it, as it did in this case for close-up shots which showed battle-damage to the Terminator character and revealed the machine underneath.

The battle damage stage of the puppet matches when the T-800 encounters a storm of bullets from the SWAT police in the foyer of Cyberdyne Systems.

Will you be going to see this puppet head in the flesh? Let us know about it in the comments below.
