Cameron PhillipsThe episode begins with the new introduction to T:TSCC. There are great graphics and a Sarah Connor voice over explaining the show. Then we see a recap of the previous episode.
A city sanitation crew is picking up garbage alongside the highway. A worker finds an endoskeleton head and hides it in a trash bag. John is at home with Sarah and Cameron. He is building some electronic gadget. His asks his mother about leaving the house and getting new identification. They decide to track down Enrique Scalada. Cameron informs John and Sarah that there are resistance fighters in 2007. Cameron and Sarah decide to go to the resistance fighter safe house, but instruct John to stay home. Cameron and Sarah enter the safe house only to find the bodies of the resistance fighters strewn all over the floor. One of the bodies is not dead but is a terminator playing possum. It grabs Cameron and they fight. They get thrown out of the window and fall about three stories. The terminator picks its head off the pavement and scans Cameron. Its visual display reads: SUBJECT: UNKNOWN, ACTION: EVADE. The terminator runs and Cameron quickly pursues. Sarah steals a motorcycle and joins the pursuit. Sarah closes in on the terminator, slides off the bike and directs the skidding hunk of metal at the terminator. Cameron, who is following, is suddenly stopped as a vehicle slams into her. Her head has gone through the windshield. She looks up at the family inside the car and says, “Please remain calm.” She removes her head from the windshield and finds Sarah. The possum terminator gets away.

The reality that there are terminators in this future hits Sarah. She asks Cameron, “Why go into the future at all?” Cameron explains to Sarah that she dies on December 4th, 2005. Undeterred from their original plan, Sarah and Cameron go to Enrique Scalada’s. They arrive and knock on his door. Enrique says he is not surprised to see Sarah. She asks Enrique about acquiring fake identification, but Enrique says he does not do bad stuff anymore. He can’t get them the identification, but he says his nephew Carlos can.Cameron and Sarah Connor

John decides to leave the house despite his mother’s instructions to stay inside. He begins to explore his surroundings and ends up at Valley Square Mall. He enters a computer store and searches information on himself. He also finds current information on Charley Dixon. A girl startles John when she asks him who Charley is. We quickly jump to the city sanitation workers home. He sets the endoskeleton head he found earlier that day on a table. The endoskeleton head eyes come on and glow. At a trash dump, an endoskeleton hand rises from a pile of garbage.
Sarah and Cameron arrive at Carlos’s house. Carlos is surrounded by his Hispanic thugs and a few pitbulls. When Cameron enters the room, the dogs begin barking madly. Sarah tells Cameron to wait outside. During Sarah and Carlos’s conversation, Carlos reveals his uncle Enrique keeps secrets. He informs Sarah that he wants $20,000 payment for the fake identifications. John locates Charley’s home and breaks in. A restless Charley comes downstairs and finds John. He is shocked but tries to hug John. John assaults Charley and leaves.

John comes back home. His mother and Cameron arrive. Sarah asks John why he is sweaty. John avoids the question. Sarah tells John that they need $20,000 for the fake identifications. Cameron tells them that there are funds in the safe at the resistance safe house. They decide to go back. Cameron attempts to open the safe, but it is booby trapped and sends an electrical shock through her. John opens the safe and takes out a bag with diamonds and cash in it. Cameron reboots and they leave.

Enrique, Terminator, The Sarah Connor ChroniclesThe city worker is at home watching television when someone breaks open his front door. He pulls a hood away from the man’s face to reveal a dead face with clouded over eyes. Charley is at his kitchen table clearly shaken from his encounter with John.
Sarah and Cameron return to Carlos’s home and buy the fake identifications. She overhears the nephew refer to Uncle Enrique as “El Rata”. Sarah and Cameron go to Enrique’s home. She asks Enrique why his nephew called him “El Rata”. She says it means snitch and informer. She pulls a gun on Enrique and accuses him of going to the police. Suddenly a shot rings out and Cameron is shown holding a gun with smoke drifting from the barrel. Sarah asks her why she killed him. Cameron tells her, “Because you wouldn’t do it.”

Sarah and Cameron go home and review the new identifications with John. Agent Ellison, always a step behind, arrives at the murder scene of Enrique Scalada. Sarah Connor, now Sarah Baum, decides to visit the doctor. The episode ends with a Sarah Connor voice over saying in order to know your enemy, you must know thyself.

Gnothi Seauton is a solid episode. It was great to see another character from Terminator 2 have a role in this series. Enrique has gone from a gunrunner raising a family in the desert to a clean cut old man in a nice suburban home. We discover that it is most likely due to him turning informant on someone which ultimately led to his death. The introduction of the terminator playing possum is an interesting twist. This terminator did not recognize Cameron’s model and further adds to the mystery of Cameron. We find out in this episode that Sarah time travels over her death. I am sure this is why she is visiting a doctor. She wants to find out if she is healthy or not. Charley Dixon’s character is back. He has done well for himself and his wife Michelle. John really liked Charley and wanted that male presence in his life. This makes me wonder how significant of a role Charley will play in future episodes. Gnothi Seauton, the episode title, is Greek for know thyself.
