Terminator T-700

WHERE THE FUCK WAS THE T-700 IN TERMINATOR SALVATION? What is a T-700? Did we miss them? Were they even in Terminator Salvation?
Some of us purchased the merchandise, the toys and even expensive busts of the T-700 Endoskeleton but how come they are not in the movie?
The answer is they ARE in the movie, horrific story telling and script changes caused T-700s to instead be named T-800s and the audience believing that they are witnessing T-800s being created at Skynet Central in Terminator Salvation.
Terminator Salvation is full of lies! and the T-700 is no different.
We asked the following when this picture was posted on the Stan Winston School Of Character Arts Facebook Page:

TheTerminatorFans.com Question to SWSOCA:
" We know that these are T-700 skulls from the factory. Can you explain the difference between 700 and 800 units. From investigating we think armies of the 700s were meant to see battle in the movie?
Was more combat cut from the movie?
Why was this changed? "
Stan Winston School Of Character Arts Response:
" TheTerminatorFans.com, Here's a start at answering your questions (again from Jimmy Charmatz from SWS/Legacy Effects:
OK
The movie wasn't very clear as to the distinction between the versions. The T-600 was supposed to be the early model that was too recognizable and humans could make them out easily (as referred to in the first Terminator). The T-700 was the version that was just prior to the T-800 and were indeed the ones shown in the factory scene in "Salvation." They were really just different in outer appearance (but not sculpted detail), painted with an antique black chrome, including the teeth which were supposedly fixed to be tooth bone color in the subsequent model T-800. The film tried to show the first ever T-800 model (Arnold) in the factory battle but none of these story points were really explained.
As for whether more combat was cut, I do not know.
Hope this helps! "

So there you have it! The T-700 was in the movie but was classed as T-800s to avoid explaining the difference between the units. As fans we are a little disapointed that the T-700s are just the same Endoskeleton as a T-800 but just antique black chrome instead of our usual silver looking metal heads...
What was the point...?
In December 2010 one of these T-700 skulls went up for auction which you can check out here
Originally it looks like we were meant to see T-700s in armies attacking the resistance for the anticipated war movie that never was.
In looking at concept art for the movie we can see the design of the T-700 is a slightly sleeker version of the T-600!

and now for a rare T-700 card out of the 9 Terminator Salvation Foil Cards by TOPPS.
This is what the T-700 was meant to look like in Terminator Salvation. Armies of this unit were meant to be going against the resistance... instead T-800 units were painted with a black chrome finish and the Terminator factory within SkyNet Central was making T-700 units at the end of the movie. Another sign of how lazy Terminator Salvation actually was!
The following image is from the rare foil cards in the Terminator Salvation Trading Cards by Topps. The 700 unit was supposed to be a slightly sleeker version of a 600 series and was supposed to appear in the movie in armies.
Now wouldn't that have been sooooo much better to have armies of those ripping peoples heads off?

" The T-700 is Skynet’s foot soldier. No need for disguise here. These killing machines move in armies to wipe out resistance hold outs. This machine is sleeker, faster and smarter than its T-600 predecessor. The human resistance will be no match for the killing power of even one of these Terminators. But it’s what comes next that could doom the resistance forever. "
* You call a fucking rubber mask a diguise for a 7ft tall T-600 that causes the earth to shake with each step as it makes the noise of a million rusted metal gates opening and closing at the same time?
