Terminator has become a woven, integrated part of society. You only have to walk down a street to hear someone making a wise cracking joke about Terminator or doing their best Arnold Schwarzenegger impression while delivering classic movie lines.
So when the tagline: "Judgement Day" is used by a large British Television Channel we take interest; afterall the second movie in the franchise had the name "Judgment Day" (why did James Cameron not spell it with an e? Who knows, the same could be said as to why he makes films about blue aliens living on a planet named after a box).

Judgement day is coming for Cain Dingle in Emmerdale this Winter, with an explosive storyline planned that will see the ultimate bad boy of soap finally get his comeuppance, but who is responsible for the attack that will leave him fighting for his life?
When the cracks began to show in John (James Thornton) and Moira’s (Natalie J Robb) marriage, Cain seized the opportunity to play games and Moira did the unthinkable, allowing her passionate hatred of Cain to take a different turn. Sleeping with the enemy filled Moira with shame and John’s fury on discovering the truth about his beloved wife’s betrayal was colossal. What will his anger make him capable of?
Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Charity’s (Emma Atkins) compelling love story has remained at the heart of Emmerdale and recently seen Cain on a spiral of self-destruction following Charity’s engagement to rival Jai (Chris Bisson). Determined to destroy their relationship, Cain has begun a campaign of terror by targeting the Sharma family, to Jai’s horror. Can he drive them apart or will Charity and Jai be forced to up the stakes?
Amy (Chelsea Halfpenny) has been terrorised by Cain ever since discovering she was pregnant with his baby. With her due date looming and panic rising, Amy’s despising of Cain and what he has put her through reaches new levels. Has he finally pushed her too far? Meanwhile Zak (Steve Halliwell) has come to blows with his son recently as they have fought to be top dog in the Dingle household. Respect is a non-negotiable to Zak, so will he take Cain’s behaviour into his own hands?
With six sworn enemies all pushed to the limit after months of manipulation and destruction, who will take the ultimate revenge on Cain as one final showdown results in him being left for dead after a brutal attack in December?
Stuart Blackburn, Emmerdale series producer says “The climax of Cain’s story will be one of our most dramatic episodes this year, with viewers left to decide which of Cain’s enemies has finally taken matters into their own hands.”
Are the writers of Emmerdale fans of Terminator? It seems to get mentioned a lot in the soap of late. Including the lines "I'll be back" delivered by business tycoon Declan and mentioning that Terminator is one of the characters (Andy) favorite movies which he demanded his girlfriend watch with him every Saturday night. Obviously these mentions have come in the lead up to the soap's end of year special plotline entitled "Judgement Day".
So if Declan said "I'll be back" and has been called "The Terminator" does this mean Cain was targetted for Termination?
