How fans want Schwarzenegger to come back in Terminator 5

We reported back in November 2010 about the possibility that once Schwarzenegger had run his course as Governor of California that he might return to being the character which made him the name he is today “The Terminator”.

Being away from Hollywood has left fans of Schwarzenegger and Terminator with a hunger for more. The last two movies didn’t flop at the box-office but they did not live up to the first two critically acclaimed Terminator pictures and director of the first two movies and creator of Terminator James Cameron stated that he hoped they weren’t as good.

James Cameron is obviously too busy writing stories about blue people to care about Terminator anymore after stating that the soup had been pissed in but the fans wish for a different outcome, we all hold on for a movie which continues the story to the high standard the first two pictures set.

Many polls are now circulating the internet stating that the fans want Arnold to do Terminator 5, is he too old? Should he steer clear of this dead franchise? The general consensus is that YES people want Schwarzenegger back as THE TERMINATOR and we believe he still has the acting goods to pull it off.

We at TheTerminatorFans.com didn’t need to ask this question though, of course want him back. We asked a different question back in November…

HOW WOULD YOU LIKE ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER TO RETURN IN TERMINATOR 5: (RESULTS)

Well the answers are clear and here they are!

As a bad T-800 like in the first Terminator movie The Terminator 32.29%
As a good Terminator like in the second movie T2: 21.88%
As a T-850 like in T3: Rise Of The Machines 19.79%
As a human prisoner of SKYNET used for DNA and research 11.46%
As the secret creator of SKYNET (scientist) 10.42%
Other? 4.17%

People want Schwarzenegger to return to the Terminator saga as a bad Terminator as per his role in the first movie The Terminator (1984). This again reinforces the fact that people want the next Terminator movie to be aimed at a more mature audience, unlike with the last two PG13 rated movies.

One of the most appealing aspects of Terminator has always been the fact that there could be more than one Arnold Schwarzenegger. Quite frankly the possibility of two Terminators sharing exactly the same physical appearance and going head-to-head has never been utilized before, sans the idea featured in the concept for Terminator 2 in which a large quantity of T-800s were lined up on racks in the SKYNET PYRAMID HEADQUARTERS (The final home to the computer processor “SKYNET” as later seen in T2:3D Battle Across Time & in the deleted scene of Terminator 3 in which his image was of that of Sgt William Candy- this scene is best forgotten).

A human character seems the least popular but who’s to say there isn’t a man being kept alive by Skynet for research? A man with strong DNA, a man who, once captured, was Harvested and studied to become the basis for the design of SKYNET’s prototype the T-800. It wouldn’t need to be a role but more a nod to the genesis of The Terminator in as much as the Terminator looks like the Terminator!

A popular result was also Arnold returning as a good Terminator. This could be achieved by perhaps capturing a unit and re-programming it (T-850) maybe? After the T-850 in Terminator 3 Rise Of The Machines was originally programmed to Terminate John Connor and was successful in the future, which led to the Terminator’s capture, it being re-programmed and sent back to protect John in the year 2003.

So we want:

Arnold Schwarzenegger stated that he is interested in doing movies of a more serious nature. Terminator if taken back to its roots can be the serious movie he is looking for. Hollywood needs to change its methods and only then can it again have the impact and worldwide success Terminator 2 Judgment Day had back in 1991 putting James Cameron and Arnold Schwarzenegger at the top of their game and center stage.
