2009

2009 was obviously the year of Terminator Salvation, the year a Blu-Ray only Director's cut was announced. Terminator Salvation was the first movie not to star Arnold Schwarzenegger in the flesh but at the last minute fans got a CGI cameo to appease the child within. The film-makers to some extent alienated fans and McG (Director of Salvation) really did make himself look bad with constant lies or "empty promises". We would respect the guy if he came forward and just addressed the issues, mainly the missing 40 minutes of the movie.

Terminator Salvation was also the first movie in the series to take advantage of BD live... a new breakthrough in film allowing Blu-Ray owners the chance to pose questions to McG... The questions were obviously filtered and the real questions every fan wanted an answer to were lost in shit questions and McG making himself look a little cocky "as some fans put it".

Overall it was a Terminator year, the last Terminator year before this was 2003 (T3), even if it did not live up to the hype. Terminator Salvation was better than Terminator 3 (the majority opinion) and overall we had an okish year (better than no Terminator at all) Cool merchandise hit the shelves, our big screens got T-600's (with rubber masks and not rubber skin tut-tut). We ran numerous competitions and had a huge contest with Sony and other highly respectible companies for a major christmas contest that made 16 fans very happy indeed.

We had a blast... We hope you did too.... (click the image below to go back in time to any point in 2009)
